My name is Kathleen Leppert and my experience in genealogy is multi-generational. I grew up completing my first family tree when I was 7 years old. My grandfather set up a Family Trust when I was a child to help fund and support a Family History Research Center. When my mother passed away, I inherited her research, added it to my own, and followed the trails she had laid down ahead of me.
In 2016, I utilized my first direct-to-consumer ancestry DNA test to test my family and find answers to a few family mysteries that had eluded past researchers. I had no idea of the journey it would take me on.
I have since conducted several genetic genealogy research projects, both academically and privately, and am currently the administrator of a YDNA surname project through FamilyTreeDNA and the administrator of several genetic genealogy family history groups.

The blog is to share the stories of the ancestors and hear their voices, so they may live again, no matter how briefly. I also share tips for finding family history on the blog.
